KIREC is the first IREC to have a dedicated track on cities given the central roles cities play in renewable energy uptake and their importance in implementing national policies. The IREC consists of high-level plenary sessions, interactive parallel sessions and plenty of time to network and learn. Energy Development Council and United Nations Industrial Development Organisation- International Solar Energy Center (UNIDO-ISEC) has signed a memorandum of understanding to promote renewable energy technologies in Nepal. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Environmental Camps for Conservation Awareness (ECCA) and WindPower Nepal Pvt. Ltd. with the purpose of mutual cooperation and assistance to provide solar energy systems to earthquakes affected individual households and institutions.
Wind Power Nepal Pvt. Ltd. (WPN) jointly with Creating Smiles and Nepal Banau distributed solar generator sets for government schools and earthquake affected people at Ratamata village, Jhagajhuli VDC, Sindhuli district.
